Brief Workshop Description
In this hour-long Zoom workshop, Suzy will introduce the history of botanical painting and demonstrate some water media techniques for rendering live plants in water-based media such as watercolor, ink, and gouache. We will use any remaining time to paint a still life set up together over Zoom.
Materials:
- Paper towels
- Paper to paint on, 140-300 lb recommended, such as Canson Cold Press Paper
- Watercolors, gouache, or inks. You’re welcome to use what you have at home but if you’re looking for a kit, Suzy recommends Winsor and Newton sets for beginners
- Brushes that can be used for water media, Suzy recommends this set
- Bowl of water
