Housing Assignments

Pre-college and visiting undergraduate students will be assigned roommates by their program and volunteered gender, which means for example, male and female students will not be placed within the same room/suite. Students staying for either a Pre-College Program or Summer Term session may request a specific roommate.

There are many opportunities for you to participate in social activities and to hang out in common areas within the residential hall, library, café, etc. However, please note that pre-college students are only permitted to go into their assigned room/suite.

Laundry

Your residence hall has its own laundry room to be shared by all those living in your building. Laundry costs are not included in the program fee. You should load Jcash onto your Jcard in order to operate the clothes’ washers and dryers.

Housing Accommodations

If you require any type of ADA accommodation during your stay with us on Homewood campus, you will need to submit your request directly with Student Disability Services. The priority deadline to register with Student Disability Services for housing accommodations will be confirmed soon. Before this deadline, your registration form and supporting documentation should be submitted into the SDS Application Form, using the Primary School as “Homewood – Krieger Arts & Sciences/Whiting School of Engineering (ASEN)”. Requests received after the deadline will be addressed as best we can, but no guarantees can be made if requests are made after this date. Learn more about the Student Support Resources available.

JHU housing’s practice is to assign students to rooms based on gender. Should this not meet your needs, please contact the Summer at Hopkins Office at summer@jhu.edu.
