Owen Hooper

At Johns Hopkins, Owen Hooper serves as Executive Director for the Summer and Intersession programs. Hooper brings more than 15 years of administrative experience to the post and a devotion to creating academic and experiential programming and holistic development opportunities to support student success. While initially drawn to the summer sessions for the opportunity to build transition programs for incoming first-year students, he has since found ways to craft innovative and supportive programming for transfer students, pre-college students, graduating seniors, and students who are resuming their degree sequence. Hooper earned his BS in Sport Management and his MEd in Higher Education Counseling, both from North Carolina State University. He completed his EdD in Innovative Program Development at the University of South Florida. He, his wife, Ginny, and their dog, Biscuit, have called Baltimore home since joining Johns Hopkins in January 2022.
