At Johns Hopkins, Kara Piccirilli serves as an Academic Program Administrator for the Summer and Intersession programs. She has a background in education, governance, and human rights. Kara has led academic programs and supported curricular initiatives at Johns Hopkins University and George Washington University. She brings to higher education experience as a lead K-12 educator in Washington, D.C. public and private schools, where she developed humanistic and experiential educational design, pedagogy, and practice. Over the course of her career, she has served as program/project manager in NGO/INGOs, as well as intergovernmental entities, including the United Nations Development Fund for Women and Girls (UNIFEM) in New York City. Kara received her L.L.M. in Human Rights Law from The University of Nottingham (UK).
