For International Students Seeking On-Campus Learning Only

Once you have been accepted into Summer at Hopkins, you will need to obtain the JHU-approved health insurance plan: Gateway Patriot Exchange Program offered by IMGlobal. This is a limited, emergency plan, and does not cover pre-existing conditions.

When completing your Gateway Patriot Exchange Program application, please use the following criteria:

  • Coverage Duration: The plan should cover the entire period of their stay in the U.S., including any travel days.
  • Minimum Coverage Limits: At least $100,000 per illness or injury.
  • Emergency Medical Evacuation: A minimum of $50,000 in coverage.
  • Repatriation of Remains: A minimum of $25,000 in coverage.
  • Network Access: Coverage should include access to healthcare providers within the U.S. and ideally, within proximity to JHU campuses.

Provide Proof of Coverage

After purchasing insurance, you will be asked to upload proof of your coverage as part of your Health Form submission process during your Summer at Hopkins online orientation.
