JHU undergraduates, visiting undergraduates, and qualified pre-college students can pursue learning online during any of the Summer Term sessions.
Important Admissions Timeline Details
In order to maximize your opportunities as an online student at Johns Hopkins this summer, your completed application will typically be reviewed within 10 business days of its submission. The 2026 Application is expected to open in late November 2025.
The Rolling Admissions Process
Once you have submitted your application, it will be individually examined to confirm you meet the Admissions Criteria, and that you have provided the required supporting documents and the application fee. An admissions decision will be sent to you in approximately 10 business days. If you receive an offer of admission, you will need to accept the offer and submit your Initial Payment within 21 days of when JHU released your offer. Completing these steps is necessary to begin the course registration process. Until this process is completed, your preferred course or courses are subject to availability.

Tuition and Program Costs
Tuition rates are based on the number of credit hours you register to complete. The 2026 rate is $1,275 USD per credit hour. As an online student, you have the freedom to enroll in multiple courses per session. There is an $85 USD application fee for your Summer Term application. Please note that as long as you are only taking Summer Term courses, you will only need to provide a single course’s Initial Payment of $1,000 USD prior to enrollment. However if you are combining Summer Term courses with any online Pre-College Programs, your Initial Payment will be based on the Pre-College Program and paid prior to enrollment.
